Melvin Ellis Collier Sr. age 60 of McCaysville, Ga. passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, at his home. He was born on March 14, 1957, at Tift General Hospital in Tifton, Ga. to Carl Collier and Francis Smith Collier. He was preceded in death by his father. Melvin worked as a career road truck driver for 34 years and often said he was good at it. Melvin and his son Ellis enjoyed riding through the countryside just the two of them watching the scenery go by and chit chatting.
He is survived by one son, Melvin Ellis Collier II, mother, Francis Collier, brother, Carl Ray Collier, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive. There will be private memorial services at the home with Rev. Barry Dotson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Rock Church building fund 620 Shoe Factory Road Blairsville, Ga. 30512.
