Mrs. Melva Kodatt, age 78 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Kodatt was born Monday, March 18, 1929 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late John Fannin and Valera Elliott Fannin. She had lived most of her life in the Atlanta area before moving to Hiawassee in 1989. She was a member of Hayesville Church of Christ and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet Susan Kodatt and sister, Wyolene Hornsby. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include: husband, of 60 years, David Kodatt of Hiawassee, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Gena and Fred Oliver of Hiawassee, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Kaye and Steve Sosebee of Lake City, GA, son & daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Kodatt of Columbia, TN, sister, Edith Davies of Lilburn, GA, grandchildren, Jennifer Ellis, Drew Oliver, Kelly Oliver, Kylie Kodatt, Kinsey Kodatt and Keyton Kodatt, great-grandson, Bryan Ellis, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Forrest Chapman officiating. Music will be provided by George and Janice Barber and Steve Sosebee. Interment will follow in Osborn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Gary Davies, Greg Davies, Mark Hornsby, Mike Hornsby, Noah Jones and Clint Morris. Honorary pallbearers include: Bill Hornsby, Jr., Tim Hornsby and Matt Perry.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8, Wednesday, March 28.
