Melissa Marcum

Melissa Ann Marcum 61 of Murphy North Carolina, passed away on July 19, 2024.

Melissa was born in Los Angeles California to Jo Ann (Holder) Marcum of Robbinsville North Carolina and Floyd James Marcum Jr. of Cincinnati Ohio, where she was raised since age 5. Her parents preceded her in death in 2018. She is survived by her son Jason M. Moore, brother Micheal J. Marcum, both of Cincinnati. Grandson's Julian Matthew Moore (Mercurio), Isaiah Moore (Dick), and Giovanni Moore (Clay). Beloved cousins Regina & Machelle, Lea, Scott, Jimmy & Cathy, and Juanita.

Melissa attended Princeton High School and Scarlet Oaks Vocational School in Cincinnati. She held an Associate of Science in Animal Behavior from Tri-County Community College in Murphy. Dog rescue and training were her calling in life. She dedicated her time, money, and energy to the animals in her care. Melissa lived to see her dogs find a forever home. Her dog Stryker is in the care of her friend Ron S. and her cat Kung-Fu is in the care of her brother Michael.

Memorial services for Melissa Ann Marcum will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Murphy.
