Max Kenneth Zimmerman, age 68 of Mineral Bluff, Ga., passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Zimmerman was born Monday, May 15, 1939 in Clay County, NC to the late Paul Walton Zimmerman and the late Maude Phillips Zimmerman. A Charter member of Appalachia Baptist Church, retired sales manager for Flowers Bakeing Company, He was preceded in death by brothers, William Zimmerman and Bruce Zimmerman.
Survivors include: wife, Madelin Ray Zimmerman, son & daughter-in-law, Randy & Robin Zimmerman of Blairsville, son, Mathew Zimmerman of Mineral Bluff, granddaughter & husband, Melissa & Eddie Rich, granddaughter, Melody Zimmerman, grandson, Randall Edward Zimmerman, II, great-grandchildren, Autumn & Aron Rich, sister, Kathern Hawkins of Cleveland, Tenn., sister, Frankie Wells of Oothwah, Tenn, sister, Bea Zimmerman of Brasstown, NC, sister, Betty Jean Deitz of Hayesville, sister, Elizabeth Arrowood of Cleveland, Tenn., sister, Edith Garrett of Young Harris, brother, Phillip Zimmerman of Blairsville, brother, Robert Hoyt Zimmerman of Charolete, NC.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00PM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Stover, and Reverend Phillip Thomas, officiating. Music will be provided by Lydia Long. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are: Pat Simmons, Jim Gray, Jeff Panter, Randy Zimmerman, Jeff Shields, and Kenneth Roland. .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Sunday, November 18.
