Max Warren Hughes, age 68 of Morganton, GA, passed away at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010. He was born in Polk County TN Oct. 16, 1941, the son of the late Fred and Lillian Forrester Hughes . Mr. Hughes retired from Intertrade Holdings, Inc. in 2008 after forty-seven years of service. He was an active member of Morganton Baptist Church where he served as a yokefellow on the Deacon committee for many years and he was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country in Vietnam he received numerous medals for bravery and heroism.
He was preceded in death by Brother, Jim Hughes.
Survivors include: wife, Linda Ross Hughes of the home, daughter, Lori Quintrell of Blue Ridge, granddaughter, Chloe Pearl Quintrell and grandson, Roy Cole Quintrell both of Blue Ridge, mother-in-law, Ruth Ross of Mineral Bluff, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Lynn & Lisa Ross of Mineral Bluff, neice, Janet Hughes of Benton, TN. niece, Morgan Ross of Mineral Bluff, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends also survive.
The following gentelman have been asked to serve as pallbearers and Honorary pallbearers, Randy Maney, Jerry Pack, James Pack, Dan Lohr, Jessie Rogers, James Hood, L.J. Hoogendoorn, Phill Ford,LeRoy Taylor and Orvin Lance, Freddie Gomez and Sid Arp.
Funeral services: will be held Monday Aug. 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Music will be provided by: Debbie Jones. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening 5 till 7 PM at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home.
