Mr. Max Grady Hunt, age 72 of Warner Robins, passed away November 16, 2015 at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mr. Hunt was born June 6, 1943 in Morganton, GA to the late Grady Hunt and Ethel Williams Hunt. A member of the New Hope Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Mull Hunt, and his sister, Kathryn Dillard Broach. After high school, Max proudly served his country enlisting in the United States Air Force obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He stayed on with the Air Force and worked as a clerk until he retired in 1981. He enjoyed playing and singing in the Mule Creek Band at the Powersville Opry. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, working on, buying, and repairing guitars, shopping at yard sales, giving gag gifts at Christmas and telling jokes.
Survivors include: daughter, Nannette Holder, daughter & son-in-law, Diana Denise (Russell) Maddox, sister, Anna Wood, five grandchildren, Kaylee Greathouse, Kyle Holder, Grant Maddox, Hunter Holder, and Alana Maddox, and one great-grandchild, Sydney Greathouse.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Henson and Rev. Alan Beaver officiating. Military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Anna Wood, 112 Grady Hunt Rd., Morganton, GA 30560.
