Mary Louise Landrum, age 84, of Copperhill, TN, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, in Ducktown, TN. Mary was born June 5, 1940, in Ducktown, TN to Francis and Mary Howell.
Mary Louise was preceded in death by her father, Francis Leon Howell; mother, Mary Lee Howell; and brothers, Francis Leon Howell Jr. and David Haney Howell.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Berke (Fran) Landrum; grandchildren, Lee Landrum and Thomas Landrum; sister-in-law, Barbara Howell; nieces Leah Howell(Josh Moga) and Marya Howell(Jeff Kniple) ; nephews, Carter Kniple and Eric Kniple; cousins Kathy Switzer, Anne Switzer, Charlie Money, Mary Switzer Zimmerman and daughter Katherine, Helen Clemmer, Steve Clemmer, and Stuart Lee (Debbie) Farmer.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill and Friend of the Harbor Ministries, McCaysville. Mary Louise served on the Tri-State EMC board and served as president of the Kiwanis Club. She was a member of the Founding Committee for the Ducktown Basin Museum. She served as librarian for the Fannin County School System and the Epworth Campus of North Georgia College. She often enjoyed performing as a storyteller.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 12, 2025, at 11:00 am from the Finch Chapel of the Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home of McCaysville with Pastor Denise Caldwell officiating. Fellowship with a meal will be provided immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following in her memory: Bread for the World or Habitat for Humanity.
