Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mary Jo Cherry, age 95, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Monday evening at her home.
Ms. Cherry was born in Hayesville, North Carolina, and had lived there and in the surrounding areas for all of her life. She attended Hayesville Church of God.
She will be lovingly remembered and is survived by her children, Mary Ruth and David Abercrombie, of Blairsville; and Jack and Betty Buckner, of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren: Kenneth and Kelley Blevins, Michael and Tracy Abercrombie, Andrea and Richard Smith, Stacy and Jim Dunn, Ashley and Jerin; great grandchildren: Steven, Melanie and Amelia Blevins; Violet Burger; Megan, Brady and Micalela Abercrombie; Zackery Holton; Simon and David Dunn; and Lucy Ann Jerin.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Hayesville Baptist-Presbyterian Cemetery, with Rev. Luther Thomas officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Kenny Blevins, Michael Abercrombie, Steven Blevins, Zack Holton, Jeramy Seabolt, and Jesse Holton.
