The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jane Weaver, age 91 and a lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away on Thursday morning, July 24, 2014 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Union County on May 31, 1923 to the late John William & Ruire (Self) Deyton. Known as a loving Mother and Grandmother, Mrs. Weaver devoted her life to her family and worked selflessly to raise her 9 children. Always providing an open and welcoming door to her home, Mrs. Weaver would often be heard saying, "If Your Happy, I'm Happy!" She enjoyed loving on her grandchildren and having them stay in her care. The family will cherish memories of regular Saturday night fish fries and Sunday afternoon dinners of fried chicken and banana pudding. She loved people and always could be counted on for a good conversation. Mrs. Weaver was a woman of Baptist faith and a strong walk with her Lord. She was saved at Youngstown Baptist Church and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughter, Mary Jo Loggins of Dahlonega, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeri & Joe Andrews of Bethlehem, GA, Ann & Jimmy Spivia of Blairsville, Edith Telford Williams and her husband Jerry of Cleveland, GA and Carolyn & J.L. Tanner of Blairsville; son, Billy J. Weaver of Ft. Worth, TX, William Frank (Bud) Weaver of Blairsville, son & daughter-in-law, John Franklin (Moe) & Gail Weaver of Blairsville; and sister, Cora Lee Carpenter. 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren also share in her legacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Weaver; son, Charles Weaver, grandson, Benny Louis Weaver; her parents and 4 siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Special Music will be presented by Melissa Mashburn. Interment will be held in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Doug Tanner, Richard Tanner, Brady Tanner, Joe Telford, Billy Andrews, John Weaver & Chuck Fowler. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
