Mary Martha Hewett

Mary Hewett, age 74, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on August 23, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Maurice and Martha Stack. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Buffy Tush and brother, Morris Stack.

Mary is survived by her husband, Perry Hewett; Children, Samuel Tush, Marcy Myers, and David Tush; 8 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren, many nephews, nieces and friends also survive. 

Mrs. Hewett was of the Catholic faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her dear family. She worked many years as a CNA helping to give comfort to her patients. She was truly a caring person to many. 

A visitation is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia on Saturday, February 8, 2025 with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to St. Judes Hospital in memory of Mary Hewett.
