Mary Gail Price Tomlinson, age 69 of Blairsville, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Tomlinson was born March 10, 1945 in Brunswick, Georgia. At the age of six weeks, she was adopted by Bill and Sally Price of Brunswick and lived there for the next 27 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Glynn Academy and attended South Georgia College and Brunswick Junior College before going to work for Southern Bell.
In 1969 she married Larry Tomlinson and spent the next 40 years moving around the world, first as an Army wife and then as a Defense Contractor's wife.
Following Larry's second retirement, they moved back to their beloved Georgia where they settled in Blairsville in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.
Gail was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, where she sang in the choir and was part of the Handbell Choir, BeaconTeam and a member of the ACTS 2 Sunday School Class.
An avid sports fan, she was born and raised a Bulldog. The Florida State Seminoles (theirson's school) was her other team, and was also a big NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry E. Tomlinson, Sr. and her son. Larry Tomlinson, Jr., both of Blairsville.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 29th at 2:00 p.m at First Baptist Church of Blairsville with Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Robert Jakoby officiating. The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville of Blairsville, Friday, March 28, 2014 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Interment will be scheduled at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
The family has requested that no flowers be sent - any gifts of remembrance are to be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
