Mary Elizabeth Brown

Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Mary E. Brown, age 97, of Blairsville, who went to be with the Lord Monday morning July 13th, 2020.

Mrs. Brown was born on January 1st, 1923 in Towns County, Georgia, to the late George and Louvina (Chastain) McClure. Mary was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and loved gardening, quilting, and canning. She is preceded in death by her husband, H.J. Brown; sisters, Dessie Nichols, Fannie Bell Erwin, and Martha Land; brother, Junior McClure; half brothers, Chuck McClure, Will McClure, and Ira McClure; half sister, Julie Bridges.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday July 15th, 2020 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Music and vocals will be by Carolyn & Junior Bridges, Jackie & David Chatham, DeAnna Webster, and The New Life Singers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the service begins. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery with Junior Bridges, Ricky Hughes, Carson Owenby, Larry Henderson, Larry Trulove, and Sam Nichols all serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charles Erwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Brown of Blairsville.
