MARY CARLISLE HILL

Mary Carlisle Hill, age 83, of Hayesville, NC entered fully into eternal life on Friday, March 27, 2009 at her home surrounded by her husband, daughters and sons-in-law.

Mrs. Hill was born February 27, 1926, in Gainesville, Georgia. In November 1945, while working as a bookkeeper/cashier at Milner?s Department Store, Fred Hill came in to get his first check cashed as a new announcer at Radio Station WGGA. The attraction was mutual and they were married February 10, 1946. Fred was ordained as a minister of the Presbyterian Church USA in 1963, and the couple served churches in Tennessee, Georgia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

She was a member of Hayesville Presbyterian Church, Hayesville, NC where she and Fred have lived since 1987. She served many years as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents the late Ida and Clifford Carlisle; sister Blanche Hulsey and brother Ben Carlisle, all from Gainesville, GA. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, John F. Hill of Knoxville, TN.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Rev. Fred Hill, daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Kozel and Sonny Teabo of Jacksonville, NC, daughter and son-in-law, Malia and Fazelath Qureshi of Dubois, WY; daughter-in-law Norma Hill, Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her cremated remains will be interned in the Columbarium Gardens at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA. A memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made In Memory of Mary C. Hill to the Hayesville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 646, Hayesville, GA 28904.
