On 2-7-16, Marvel Keller Metzger officially became an angel of God. With great pride, she accepted the invitation to a soprano seat in our Lord's heavenly choir. While here on earth, Marvel was a Eucharistic Minister and choir leader for her church, St. Francis of Assisi in Blairsville. She was very active in her community by donating much of her time to charities and local fund raising assisting the homeless. She was an active member of the Red Hat Club, in which her constituents have graciously donated funds to the community food bank on her behalf. Marvel was a member in the Friends of the Library Book Club and would often read to the elderly. The memories of selfless love for her friends and family will never perish from our thoughts. But apart from this, she will be mostly remembered for her smile; a smile that would light up a room, laughter that was infectious, and her love and loyalty for the Lord Jesus Christ. To know her, was a privilege to all. Marvel was the daughter of the late retired Sgt. James W. Keller, United States Air Force and the late Ardith Zavitz Vergason. Her brother James "Buddy" Keller has preceded her in death, and has one surviving brother, Jody W. Keller, of Waynesville, NC. Marvel will be profoundly missed by her children: Daughter, Carol Cataldo Perry of St. Petersburg, Fla., son Anthony P. Cataldo of Gainesville, Fla., son Kenneth "Jamie" Howell, of Northport, Fla., a step son Steven Thomas Howell, of Tampa, Fl., and a niece, Alexandra "Lexy" Keller, of Young Harris, Ga. She tearfully leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was truly a marvel to us all.
A memorial service for Marvel will be held on April 9th, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Blairsville, GA., at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Mountain Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1252, Blairsville, Ga., 30514
