Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory Of Blairsville announces services for Mr. Martin "Dennis" McLendon, age 71 of Blairsville, who went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, February 9, 2018 at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA. Mr. McLendon was born in Atlanta, GA on February 6, 1947 to the late James A. & Katie Elizabeth Salter McLendon. A member of Coosa United Methodist Church and Parkinson's Support Group of Blairsville, Dennis enjoyed aviation, as well as, spending lots of time with his wife and pets. He enjoyed target practicing and had a knack for competition shooting due to his abilities as a marksman. Along with his many accomplishments Mr. McLendon served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was exposed to agent orange. He will not only be remembered as a great man, but also as hero of sacrifice for our nation and our freedom.
Dennis will be remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his loving wife, Barbara Kea McLendon, as well as his Sister, Mary Phillips (Glynn) of Santa Claus, GA, brother, James McLendon Jr. of Vidalia, GA and brothers-in-law, Henry Kea (Verna) and John Kea (Sandra). Also sharing in his legacy are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 2:00pm, from the Coosa United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until the service hour at the church.
