Marshall Bruce Hogsed

Marshall Bruce Hogsed, age 63, of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Hogsed was born October 7, 1958, in Murphy, NC to the late Boyd Hogsed and the late Betty Howard Hogsed. He was a member of Living Word Community Church. Marshall was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Hogsed was a preacher of God's word and loved riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Terrie Dale Waldroup, sons, John (Tim) Ballew & Matthew (Suszzanne) Hogsed, daughter, Melisa (Chris) Whitten, sister, Brenda (Eddie) Garrett, brother, Charles (Laura) Hogsed, grandchildren, Alex Whitten, Josh Whitten, Christopher Whitten, Mark Whitten, Anthony Whitten, Skyla Hogsed, Carolyn Hogsed, Jayden Hogsed, Cheyanne Hogsed, Barrett Hogsed, Dakota Hogsed, and Nevaeh Hogsed, and great-grandchild Aaron Hogsed.

Funeral services: Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 4:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with the Rev. Hoyt Brown and Rev. Eugene Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Waldroup-Hogsed Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Alex Whitten, Josh Whitten, Christopher Whitten, Paul Waldroup, Ricky Waldroup, David King, and David Sauls.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
