Marjorie Schmidtke

Marjorie Erickson Schmidtke age 78 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on February 25, 2012 after a prolonged and courageous fight against cancer. Marjorie was born in Wartburg Tennessee on March 9th 1933 then moving to the Jupiter, Tequesta Florida area for 41 years. She moved to Hiawassee Georgia in 1999 until the present.

Marjorie had a very special way of bringing friends and family together with her cooking and wonderful sense of humor. Marjorie was also a great athlete playing softball, tennis and bowling as well as being an avid sport fan.

A loving wife of 40 years to Richard Schmidtke and a wonderful mother to Terry Altwein (Jody), Nina Sorenson and son John Schmidtke. Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter Joni Foster.

Marjorie is also survived by nine grandchildren, Autumn Sheppard (John), Jessie Foster, Ashlee Moore, Erika Hays (Chris), Leah Schmidt, Amanda Schmidt, Kenneth Schmidt, David Sorenson and Alex Sorenson. Marjorie is also survived by eight great grandchildren Joshua and Allison Sheppard, Ashdon and Ricardo Williams, Kylie and Hayden (Schmidt) Perez, Blake Hays and Victoria Schmidt.

Marjorie was the most loyal and loving of friend to many and had a contagious smile, Marjorie will be greatly missed.
