Marjorie Ryder, a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Fannin County and a loving mother, and grandmother.
Marjorie, age 93, was born in Newton, Massachusetts to the late Austin and Letitia Durkee. She was the oldest of 4 children, Robert Durkee, Edith Durkee, and Carol Arnold. Her parents and siblings all preceded her in death.
Marjorie graduated from High School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and worked at Raytheon Manufacturing before marrying Russell Ryder on January 1, 1938. She gave birth to 5 children. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Barbara Babbin Bayrouty, and her 3rd child, Nancy Mowry Munson. She is survived by her daughters Linda Morton, and Thelma Rilea (Robert), and son Wayne Russell Ryder (Catherine). She had 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She later lived in Orlando, FL, and then Fletcher, NC before moving to live with her daughter, Thelma Rilea and husband Bob in Mineral Bluff, GA in 1993. She was always
a leader in her church's community services programs.
Her hobbies were crocheting afghans and kitchen towels, which she shared with any visitors who came to see her. She enjoyed watching cooking and craft programs on TV and her favorite satellite TV channel (Three Angels Broadcasting Network) 3ABN and sharing her strong faith in the soon coming of Jesus. She is remembered as an avid crossword puzzler, collecting lighthouses and for sitting and chatting over a hot cup of tea. She loved retelling stories of her younger days and trips to Nova Scotia.

Her Children are grateful for the support from Hospice and Health care workers who helped care for their Mum at home.
