Mrs. Marilyn Anita Amos, age 65, of Marble, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Park Ridge Medical Center in Chattanooga. Marilyn was born December 17, 1951, in Andrews, NC to the late Rev. Ralph Postell and Juanita Hicks Postell. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Murphy, owner, and operator of Marilyn's Catering Service. She enjoyed Cooking, fishing, camping, working in her flowers and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Morris Postell, Norris Postell and Mike Postell.
Survivors include: mother, Juanita Hicks Postell, husband of forty six years, Wayne Amos, daughter, Kim Roberts, son, Greg (Joye) Amos, grandchildren, Aaron Roberts, Alex Roberts, Chase Roberts, Caleb Roberts, Luke Amos, Sam Amos, brothers, Alan (Rose) Postell, Richard (Evelyn) Postell, Jimmy (Cindy) Postell, Barbara (Wayne) Baine, Rebecca (Vader) Campbell, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Red Marble Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Murphy, Rev. Ralph Barnard, and Rev. Larry Shope officiating. Interment will follow in Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Johnny Postell, Tony Campbell, James Hooper, Scott Postell, Chris Postell and David Rivenbark. Honorary pallbearers: Adam Postell, Travis Postell, Chris Baine and Nathan Campbell.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017, 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
