Marie Satterfield

Myrtle Marie Satterfield, 84, of McCaysville Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA. Marie was born March 25, 1939, in Copperhill, TN to Lon and Alma Williams. Marie was preceded in death by father, Lon Williams; mother, Alma Davis Williams; brothers, Billy Frank Williams, Jimmy Williams; sisters, Hazel Turner, Helen Callihan, Dottie Arp, June Simonds, and Betty Sparks.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Kenneth "Shorty" Satterfield; daughter Maria (Jim) Helton; son Scott (Angela) Satterfield; grandson Ryan (Kristy)Henson; grandaughter, Megan (Gilbert) Brown; grandson Korey (Bailey) Satterfield; granddaughter Courtney (Tyler Parker) Satterfield; great-grandchildren, Liam Henson, Aidan Henson and Klayton Satterfield.  Marie is also survived by sisters, Edna Randall, Mary Lou Arp, Loretta Nazerian, Carolyn Coley; brother Jerry Williams; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Marie was a member of Calvary Chapel and loved the Lord.  Family was Marie's passion. She was a loving wife of 64 years, a wonderful mom, and an even better nana. She loved her family fiercely and adored her grandkids and great grandkids. She especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with them around her kitchen table. In her earlier years she provided childcare to several local families. Later in life she worked as a CNA with Superior Home Health and Copper Basin Medical Center. She lived her life to serve and care for others.

Funeral Service, on Monday May 1, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev Terry Callihan and Rev Daniel Postell officiating. Music provided by Vernon Owenby.   The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ryan Henson

Korey Satterfield, Gilbert Brown, Tyler Parker, Jordan Gogan, and Reed Gogan.  Honarary Pallbears include; Liam Henson, Aidan Henson, and Klayton Satterfield.   Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday Evening April 30, 2023 from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville.
