Maria Lewett Brown

Mrs. Maria Lewett Brown, poet and author of 1645 Moody Hollow Road, Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, August 15, 2008. Mrs. Brown was born in Morgan County, Georgia, a daughter of Coney Lee and Georgia Lillie Brooks, and was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Donald Brown in 1971, as well as her daughter Linda Lewett Brown in 1999.

Mrs. Brown, as being a staunch believer and evangelistic teacher in the body of Christ and while possessing the divine gift of inspirational penmanship was also a long-time writer, poet, and author of poetic pearls and "reflections of reality;" two outstanding and popular books of spiritual composition.

Mrs. Brown was of the full gospel and non-denominational faith and also served the Lord in the capacity of missionary endeavors, in the Grand Cayman Islands British West Indies for a number of years.

Survivors include: cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Mike Stewart officiating. Graveside services will be held at the West Haven Cemetery, Monroe, Georgia.
