Margaret Ruth Standridge

Mrs. Margaret Ruth Standridge, age 91 of Wolf Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Margaret was born January 24, 1924 in Polk County, TN to the late Harvey Alvin Gaddis and the late Elizabeth Withrow Gaddis. She was Baptist in faith. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables, crossword puzzles, and creating crafts with canvas and yarn. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Boyd Standridge, her parents, three brothers, two sisters and two infant children, Joe and Cora.

Survivors include: daughter, Eva Wood, son, Harvey and his wife Deborah Standridge, daughter, Patricia 'Pat" Standridge, son, Jimmy Standridge, 11 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA with the Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music provided by Rose Jones and the Hayes Brothers. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery at Wolf Creek. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris, David, Joe and Tim Wood, Jason Standridge, Dustin Chastain, Johnny and Anthony Crook. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons, Jacob Crisp, Brian Kesler, Zack Wood, Tyler Standridge, Samuel and William Wood.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
