Marcie Mote

Marcie Mote, age 73, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, GA.,surrounded by her loving family. Marcie was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Jack and Dot Munn.

Marcie was preceded in death by her father, Jack D. Munn.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Larry Mote; mother, Dot Munn Guice; sons, Taylor (Arielle) Mote and Ben (Vicky) Mote; brother, Doug Munn (Patty); sister, Nancy Munn Carter (Drew); and grandchildren, Caleb Mote, Colton Mote, Logan Mote, Noa Mote, and Adrian Mote.

Marcie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and moved to Marietta Georgia to teach high school math. After teaching for 3 years she went to work as an engineer for Bellsouth/AT&T where she retired. Shortly after retirement she and her husband Larry moved to their dream home in Blue Ridge.

Marcie was a dedicated mother to her two sons. Her company was desired by all that knew her. She was thought of as a second mother to her son's close friends, always providing warmth and comfort.

She lived a life defined by her deep faith in Christ Jesus. Her faith shone brightly, evident to everyone she met, turning strangers into friends with her contagious love. Her kindness and ability to reflect God's grace left a lasting impact, inspiring those around her. Marcie's light will continue to shine in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A service will be held in her home town at First Presbyterian Church, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on April 26. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM with a service following at 11:00.

In addition, a Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025, at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge,GA from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
