Mr. Mack Umphrey Ballew, age 76, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away June 1, 2012 at his home, in Palm Coast FL. Mr. Ballew was born February 2, 1936 in McCaysville, GA to the late Claude Miller Ballew and the late Nelle Mull Ballew. Mack was a member of Mine City Baptist Church. He was a Mason, a U.S. Veteran serving in the Marines during the Korean War and was active with the Reserves. Mack retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and watching the TN Volunteer football team.
Survivors include: wife, Carolyn Sue Ballew; sister, Sylvia Talley; brother, Roy Ballew,; daughter, Cynthia (Louis) Grassi; son, Timothy (Theresa) Ballew; grandchildren, Joseph Grassi, Louie Grassi, Anthony Grassi, Brandon Ballew, and, Christina Ballew.
Funeral services: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating, and the music provided by: Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Tuesday, June 05, 2012 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
