Luther H. ""H-e"" Long,

Mr. Luther H. Long Jr., better known as "H-e "age 84 of Ducktown, TN, passed away Sunday evening, March 11, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Mr. Long was born February 24, 1928 in Polk County , TN to the late Luther Hayden Long Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Amburn Long . He was a member of Ducktown Methodist Church.He was a U.S. Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from city services company after 40 years of services. He was a member of the Ducktown Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and was a Shriner. He served on Ducktown Housing Authority, and worked with meals on wheels. "H-e" was a friend to everyone in Ducktown, he drove them where they needed to go, and would pick up items at the store for them, anyone in need he was there for them. He volunteered to help at the Ducktown Museum. 'H-e" was a awesome person with a wonderful sense of humor with a pleasant personality.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marie Godfrey Long, brother, Warren G. Long, sisters, Louise Long, Helen Long, Ruby Long, and, Mona Long.

Survivors include: sister, Mildred Long Rylee, nieces, Ruby Brown, Kathy Cherry, Susie Ballew, Betsy Smith, and Malinda Craig and nephews, John Rylee, Luke Rylee, and all those who knew him as Pappy or Pap.

Funeral services: March 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Smith and Rev. Bob Hamilton officiating. Music provided by Rev. Keith Smith. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Erasmo Ramirez, Donnie Godfrey, Luke Rylee, John Rylee, Richard Craig, Jeff Smith, Joe Ballew, T. J. Stevens, and Mike Davis. Honorary pallbearer, E. E. Boggs and the repairmen at the Burra Mines. Military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
