Lucy Adalaide Truett (Hamby)

Mrs. Lucy Adalaide Hamby Truett, age 87 of Andrews, passed away November 26, 2012 at Valley View Health Care Nursing Home. Mrs. Truett was born June 30, 1925 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Pryor and Maggie Deaver Hamby. A member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by Husband, Henry Truett, Daughter, Hazel Alene Garrett, Brother, Clifford Hamby, Sister, Irene Hamby, Brother, John Hamby, Brother, Thomas Hamby, Sister, Gwendlyn Beaver, and Sister, Ruby Mashburn.

Survivors include Son, James (Marjorie) Garrett of Griffin, GA, Daughter, Mary (Everett) Mortimer of Brandon, FL, Daughter, Virginia Stanley of Blue Ridge, GA, Daughter, Gladys (Doyle) White of Andrews, NC, Daughter, Helen (Alton) Boyett of Panama City, FL, Sister, Alene Morrow of Murphy, Sister, Jewell Murphy of Murphy, Brother, Joe Hamby of Cleveland, TN, Brother, Thurman Hamby of Murphy, Brother, Dee Hamby of Murphy, nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Music provided by the Bradley Brothers singers. Interment will follow in the River Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Hamby, Ray Hamby, Andy Hamby, Duke Hamby, Joe Mickens and Matthew White. Honorary pallbearers will be Jr. Mickens, Arnold Beaver, Eddie Morrow, Mike Hamby and the grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
