Loy Gerald Beaver

Mr. Loy G. Beaver, age 87, of McCaysville, GA passed away on Thursday evening, February 10, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin, Ducktown, TN.
Born in Fannin County to the late Bascomb Beaver and Effie Higdon Beaver, he spent most of his adult life living in New York City where he worked as a funeral Director. He later moved to Montvale, NJ where he lived with his family until he retired and moved to McCaysville, GA.
He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, and his greatest joy in life was listening to his collection of blue grass music and singing in local churches.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sanborn Beaver, and one son, Gerry Beaver.
He is survived by his sons, Maxwel lBeaver of Alexandria, VA; Gene Beaver of Middletown, NY; and daughters, Melissa Lanfranca of Roselle Park, NJ; Patricia Grubb of Seffner, FL, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ms. Bonnie Bearden of Douglasville, GA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel,McCaysville, GA with Rev. Lamar O'Neal, and Rev. Ed O'Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 9 pm.
