Lowell Keith Marble

Lowell Marble, 77 passed away, Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Murphy Medical Center.

Lowell was born November 25, 1939 in Medina, New York to Elmer and Mary (Kraatz) Marble.

Before retiring, Lowell enjoyed a wide-ranging list of careers that took him from Florida, to Texas, Colorado and Arizona. His many professions included music and shop teacher, antique dealer and clock repairman, city fireman, commercial laundry owner, cabinet maker and flight attendant. Lowell was a skilled craftsman who spent most of his time in his workshop building with wood and metal. He was an avid model railroader and passionate collector and restorer of antique tractors. Lowell was a patient friend who loved to provide repair advice, help neighbors with carpentry projects, or simply talk about the weather. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing hand bells.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan (Warden); his brother Elwood (Woody) and his wife Myrna; his three sons, Eric Marble and his wife Mary of Ball Ground, GA., Mark Marble and his wife Lynelle of Honolulu, HI, and Paul Marble of Dallas TX; four grandchildren, Stahler and Meredith of Ball Ground, GA, and Dylan and Gabriel of Honolulu, HI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 29, at Murphy First United Methodist Church, 73 Valley River Ave; Murphy, North Carolina 28906, Reverend Rob Rollins will be officiating. The family will greet friends at church on Wednesday from 6:15 pm until the time of service.
