Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Mrs. Louise Hoffman Ledford, 84, of Hayesville, North Carolina, who went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Ledford was born in Clay County, North Carolina, on January 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Bynum Hoffman and the late Delia Cruise Hoffman Wood. Mrs. Ledford was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a faithful member of Mission Hill Baptist Church, and had attended there since the church reopened in 1978. A strong, hardworking lady, Louise had a great love for others. Louise loved to work in her flowers. Preceding her in death besides her parents were: her husband, Kenneth Ledford; son, David Ledford; sisters: Edith Dowell, Grace Plott, and Mary Hoffman.

Left behind to treasure her memory is Louise's loving family members: daughter and son-in-law, Fleta and Charles Norton, of Loganville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Doc Sellers, of Hayesville; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Danny Sedberry, of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Mike Gribble, of Hayesville; daughter, Pam McClure, of Hayesville; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Ledford, also of Hayesville; brother, Lawrence Hoffman of Dahlonega, Georgia; Twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was greatly admired by her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Louise loved being around her family and made the very best chicken and dumplings! All of her family and friends will miss her and her beautiful smile....

Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, with Rev. Tom Gregg, Rev. Mark Stewart, and Rev. Kenny Corn officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Hayesville. The family will meet with friends on Monday, August 10, 2015, before the funeral services, starting at 12 noon.
