Louis Truemper

Louis Joseph Truemper Jr., age 82, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at his home. Mr. Truemper was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 9, 1941, to the late Louis Joseph Truemper, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Lendermon Truemper. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Dawn Truemper, former spouse and dear friends, Kathy Truemper Cross (Richard); Sister, JoAnn Walker (Bill); Niece, DeeAnn Kay and Nephew, Steve Kay (Christine). Mr. Truemper was of the Christian Catholic faith.

Lou was a longtime employee with AT&T as an engineer. He served with honor in the United States Army and remained very patriotic throughout his lifetime. During his time at the University of Georgia, he played baseball as a pitcher for the Bulldogs. Later, he pitched with the St. Louis Cardinals minor league team as well as a pitcher for the United States Army baseball team while in France. He was named to the Marist School's Sports Hall of Fame. Lou had the privilege of playing golf at the Atlanta Classic Pro-Am teaming with Gary Player. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the pleasure the game gave him. He was a very charitable and giving individual with a deep love for animals.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service hour on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. An interment service will follow the funeral service on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with honors given by the United States Army and committal service by Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Mr. Truemper be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org).
