Lou Emily Forrister (Golden)

Mrs. Lou Emily Golden Forrister, age 82 of Murphy, passed away August 31, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Forrister was born March 20, 1930 in the Hot House Community in NC to the late Joseph James and Florence Georgia Farmer Golden. She was Baptist in faith, loved visiting with people. She also loved to cook for her family and friends and very much enjoyed having tea and biscuits & gravy with her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Windell Forrister, parents, Joseph and Florence Golden, brothers, James, Junior, France, Ray, and Clyde, sisters, Ethel, Myrtle, and Edna.

Survivors include daughter, Susie & Jackie Arp, daughter, Patricia & Mark Shields both of the Hot House Community, sister, Ruth & John Thomas, sister, Shirley & Earl Mullins both of Ohio, sister, Fay Yurchis of the Hot House Community, granddaughter, Angela Arp Ledford & friend, Billy Ray Gaddis, granddaughter, Vickie Arp Bowman & husband Phil, grandson, Jacob Shields, great-granddaughter, Danielle Ledford McBride & husband Cody, great-grandson, Jonathan Bowman, great-granddaughter, Hailey Bowman, great-great-grandson, Hunter McBride, sister-in-law, Joan Golden, sister-in-law, Ann Golden, also many nieces, nephews & friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Music provided by Sheri Golden. Interment will follow in the Simonds Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Pallbearers include Cody McBride, Phil Bowman, Earl Mullins Jr., J.L. Stiles, Jerry Morrow, and Ronny Crisp. Honorary pallbearers are Ervin Golden, John Thomas, Marvin Greene, and Jack Thompson.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Sunday evening September 2, 2012 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
