Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Francis Lorraine Conley, age 98 of Blairsville who passed away on August 13, 2017 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Conley was born in Hiawassee, Georgia on January 24, 1919 to Rufus Mitchell Conley and Maggie (Allen) Conley. She remained in the North Georgia area for most of her life. However, for a few years, Mrs. Conley worked in Atlanta for the Bell Bomber Plant. Most would remember her working for the Union County Clerks Office where she served for over 27 years until her retirement in 1987. Her dedication provided Union County a level of continuity and smooth transition over the years. She was a faithful member of Ivy Log Baptist Church. With a kind and gentle spirit, she always had a pleasant disposition. She would always sing a gospel song as she went throughout her day, bringing a smile to her face and those around her. She loved animals, to sew, and to dry flowers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: nephews, Allen Conley (Brenda) and R. Burl Conley (Inis); and nieces, Julia Gray (Joe), Laura Fenner, and Simon Chapman. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and 3 nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Black officiating. Interment will follow in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Fred Gray, Rick Gray, Zach Odom, Shaun Conley, Jacob Conley, and Logan Conley.
