Lorene Dyer Odom

Lorene Dyer Odom passed away at her home on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 after bravely battling Dementia.

 Ms. Odom was born in Choestoe, Union County, on Monday, January 22, 1940 during a paralyzing snowstorm.

The daughter of Woodrow Wilson Dyer and Mertie Lou Reid Dyer. Lorene is survived by her three children Wayne (Gina), Cerelda, and Chris (Jackie). Grandchildren Amy Odom, Melissa Clifton, Kimberly de Heus, Jessica (Adam) Highley, and Chelsea (Will) Barton, and many great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Gladys Patton and Vivian Hedden.

She was a brilliant quilter, passionate gardener & an enthusiastic baker.

She will be deeply missed.

 A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel at 3:00 pm with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.

The family will recieve friends on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel.

Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church on Richard B Russell Highway.
