Loren Dale Davis

Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy announces funeral services for Mr. Loren Dale Davis, age 91, native and lifelong resident of Murphy, who passed away on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018.

Mr. Davis worked for many years at Clifton Precision before retiring and buying a dump truck and back hoe that he worked with hauling gravel and dirt for people, up until just weeks before his death. He really enjoyed working and driving a truck and gardening. Mr. Davis was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Festus Davis and Ella Wilson Davis. Mr. Davis was also preceded in death by four sisters: Cordie Davis Conners, Callie Davis Gentry, Wilda Davis Farner, Zelda Davis Gentry; and six brothers: Wiley Davis, Verl Davis, James "Jim" Davis, Paul Davis, Howard Davis, and Void Davis; and grandson, Jamie Davis (Crystal).

Surviving members left behind to cherish the memory of Mr. Davis are his wife, Maggie Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Jonnie and Johnny "Tobe" Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Opal Davis Radford and Ab Radford; and daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Davis McDonald and Steve McDonald, all of Murphy; Seven grandchildren: Dedra Davis (Chris), Sandy Ledford (Charles), Brian Davis (Nicole), Tracy Palmer (Donald), Tim Radford, Adam Radford (Charleigh), and Robin Anderson (Jim); fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Vernon Davis and sister, Wanda Davis Kephart, both of Murphy, also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, November 17th, 2018, to be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, with Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Corey Baker, Gavin Davis, Elijah Davis, Luke Davis, Brian Davis, and Loren Jones. Asked to serve as honorary escort for the family are Tim Radford and Adam Radford. Burial will be in Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends at the funeral home starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th, for one hour before the service starts.
