Linda Nichols Davenport

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Linda N. Davenport, age 72, of Stockbridge, Georgia, formerly of Morganton, Georgia, who passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home.

Linda was born in Blairsville, Georgia, on August 9, 1940, a daughter of the late Ellard W. Nichols and the late Anna Lou Gray Nichols. Linda was an excellent pianist, and played for numerous churches over the years, and loved to read books. Linda was a former employee of Cochran Funeral Homes. Her beloved husband of 40 years, Cline Davenport, preceded her in death; as well as her parents; and a brother, Edward Nichols.

Linda was dearly loved and will be missed so much - especially by her family members: son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Patti Davenport, of Stockbridge, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Donna Davenport, of Morganton, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Phalla Davenport of Douglasville, Georgia; and daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Josh Coltrane, of Decatur, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ervin Jones, of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-lwa, Steve and LeighAnn Nichols, of Statesville, North Carolina; and brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Barbara Nichols, of Blairsville; and sister-in-law, Terry Nichols, of Morrow, Georgia; grandchildren: Gina Davenport, Gabriel Davenport, Brandon Davenport, Connor Coltrane, Evan Coltrane, Borin Kloth, Phalline Kloth, and Mallya Kloth; great grandchildren: Nathan Kloth, John Dial, and Austin Dial. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Linda have been scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Ray Potts officiating. A few of Linda's favorite hymns will be presented for the service by Ken and Betty Nichols, Gina Davenport, and Amanda McBride. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Gabriel Davenport, Brandon Davenport, Keith Jones, Jimmy Nichols, Josh Nichols, and Keith Davenport. Burial will be in Maple Grove Baptist Church in Morganton, where Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband, Cline. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m.
