Lillie Mae Leatherwood

Lillie Mae Leatherwood, 88, of Murphy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born March 23, 1934, in Murphy, NC, to the late Fred Arrowood and Geneva Deaton Arrowood.  
She was a member of Upper Peachtree Baptist Church, and her favorite pastimes included crocheting, sewing, singing, her cats, and spending time with her family.  
Her sons, David Larry Leatherwood and Johnny Lee Leatherwood, and her brother, William Jack Arrowood, preceded her death. 
 Survivors include her husband of over seventy years, Fred "Shorty" Leatherwood, son William Howard (Becky) Leatherwood, and daughter, Sherry Lynn (Ricky) Plott sister, Shirley Arrowood (Rich) Kruger. Lillie Mae is also survived by her grandchildren Crystal Leatherwood, Stacey Leatherwood, Alicia Leatherwood, Adam (Misty) Leatherwood, Nathan Leatherwood, Mary Ann Leatherwood, Ashley (Neal) Gustafson, and Jessica Moneymaker; sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services: Monday, June  13, 2022, from Upper Peachtree Baptist Church with Rev. Derick Tilley officiating.
 Matthew Roach and Nathan Leatherwood will provide music.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Adam Leatherwood, Nathan Leatherwood, Neal Gustafson, Stanley Raxter, Scott Raxter, and Bobby Mathis. Honorary Pallbearer, Kadence Leatherwood, and Dawson Gustafson.
The family will receive friends at the Upper Peachtree Baptist Church Monday, June 13, 2022, from 1:00 PM till the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.
