Lewis Everette Stotts, age 80, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully, Monday morning, October 26, 2015 in the comfort of his home.
Lew was born December 4, 1934 in Spencer, West Virginia. He was one of 11 children born to Everette Stotts and Edna Stotts. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and seven of his siblings. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He became known as "Posh" after his grandson chose this sweet name for him. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Geraldine Payne Stotts, his brother, Kenna Stotts and sister-in-law, Linda Stotts, his sisters Hope Stotts Morris and Dulcie J. Dekett , brother-in- law, Roy Dekett, his step-daughter, Laura Roth ,son-in-law, Mark Roth, grandson Garrison Roth.
He was a veteran of The United States Navy and attended college at West Virginia Tech and received his degrees in Electrical and Structural Engineering. He spent the majority of his career with IBM.
Lew never met a stranger. He enjoyed taking the time to stop and talk to everyone that he encountered. He enjoyed meeting new people and learning about them and their interests. He was always the first person to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a very kind man with a giving heart. He was an engineer and loved all types of tools. He was known for always having the newest gadget.
The family would like to thank all of his friends, family and neighbors that have supported us through this journey. Also, we want to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice for all of their support during these past weeks.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015, from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 1pm until the service begins. Interment will follow at New Union Baptist Church.
