Leonard Earl Parris, age 72 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Parris was born December 8, 1942, in McCaysville, GA to the late Edwin Earl Parris and the late Agnes Prince Parris. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Parris retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company as an electrician, served as the Fannin County Electrical Inspector, was a self-employed electrician, and was a Fannin County Bus Driver for ten years. He enjoyed horses, fishing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his extended family.
Survivors include: wife, Betty Jo Parris, son, Mark (Angela) Parris, brother, Eddie (Cheryl) Parris, grandchildren, Sarah Parris, Kristin Parris and Hope Parris.
Funeral services: Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Parris and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Remarks will be by Bee Hicks. Music will be provided by: Randy and Missy Hooper. Interment will follow in Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Hooper officiating .
Pallbearers: Chris Heaton, Nathan Parris, Mike Gwatney, Michael Dean, Bill Simonds, Dane Kirby, Pete Folger and Stacy Chastain.
Honorary pallbearers: Sonny Long, Gary Williams, Donnie Dockery, Doug Heaton, Ed Howard, Robert Turner, Salem Baptist Church #2 members, and retired electricians with Tennessee Chemical Company.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Monday evening, July 27, 2015, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
