Mrs. Lelia Marlene Harper, age 80 of McCaysville, passed away December 5, 2014 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Marlene was born August 20, 1934 in McCaysville, GA to the late Floyd Henry Harris and the late Cara Belle Pope Harris. A member of the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church, she enjoyed crafts, sewing, and tending her flowers. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her loved ones.
Survivors include loving husband of 63 years, William Otis Harper, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Dana Harper of Mineral Bluff, one sister, Barbara (Terry) Abernathy of Ducktown, two brothers, Max (Glenda) Harris of Lawrenceville, GA, and Kenneth (Pat) Harris of Acworth, GA, two granddaughters, Brittany (Jonathan) Newton and Brandi Harper and also soon to be born twin great-grandchildren Henry and Harper Newton.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music provided by Charlie Farmer & family. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kyle Abernathy, Rex Henry, Garry Harper, Lannie Henson, Kenny Pelfrey and Travis Pelfrey.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, Saturday evening from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
