Mr. L.E. "Junior" Kimsey, Jr., of Hiawassee, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Junior was born in Hiawassee on February 27, 1930, a son of Leonard Esco Kimsey and Bertha Lowe Kimsey. He was a retired brick mason, and had worked hard his whole life every day, but reserved Sunday for the Lord. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Junior was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, where he had served regularly as an usher. He had a deep love for his family above all, and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Junior had a great fondness for his rhododendron and tomatoes, too! College sports, and the Atlanta Braves also were of interest to him.
Mr. Kimsey is survived by his son, Benny Kimsey; son & daughter-in-law, Donald & Jackie Kimsey; brother, Bruce Kimsey; grandsons, Adam Ray, Caleb Ray, Cameron Kimsey, Casey Kimsey, and Zachary Kimsey; and granddaughter, Jaylyn Kimsey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Kimsey Ray; his parents; and his sister, Lucille Hedden.
