Lawrence G. Henry

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. Lawrence Gene Henry, age 73, of Blairsville, who passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

Mr. Henry had lived in Blairsville for 21 years, moving here from Avondale Estates, Georgia. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He had been preceded in death by his wife, Neva Davenport Henry; his parents, Leonard and Marie Henry; and a sister, Judy Motley.

Surviving family members include daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Jeff Fisher, of Blairsville; daughter, Trena Taylor, of Terrell, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tommy Walton, also of Terrell; and son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Lisa Henry of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, David and Carol Phillips of Waxahachie, Texas; and brother, Chris Henry, of Maryville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., to be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
