Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for LaVerna Ann London, age 61 , of Dacula, Georgia , , who passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville Ga.

LaVerna, a gentle, sweet soul and a professed faithful Christian who always remained stoic. She loved singing in the choir at Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville, Ga. where she attended church for many years. She always saw the good in everybody and was always ready to help those in need. She was an animal lover who especially loved cats as she provided home to several rescued fur babies. She enjoyed spending time with her husband going to car shows and their trips to the beach.

LaVerna was born in Chamblee, Ga. to Kurt and Vern Cunningham Smith on October 20, 1956. She graduated from Peachtree High School in Dunwoody, Ga. She had a successful career in the valuation and financial advisory industry for over 30 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant at MG Valuation for the past three years and prior to that as Administrative Assistant at American Appraisal Associates for over 28 years.

LaVerna was preceded in death by brother-in-law Dennis H. London, and father-in-law, Harold G. London.

Surviving LaVerna is her loving husband of 37 years Ronnie London; Brother, Mike Smith (Cheryl); sisters-in law Charlene Davis and Darlene London-Merritt; parents Kurt and Vern Smith; mother-in-law Betty A. London; nephews Jamey Merritt and Byron Smith; nieces Brittany Smith, Stephanie White, and Samantha McPherson.

The family will receive family and friends from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm for visitation and the funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Hiawassee, Ga. with Pastor Brian Wilson of Free Chapel Worship Center officiating. Aaron Underwood will give the Eulogy and Tony and Lacey Ford will be presenting the music.Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony McConnell, Colby Warren, David London Jr., Darrell Parker, Devin Beck, Jamey Merritt, Danny Baker and David Baker.
