Larry Monkus

Mr. Larry E Monkus, 73, of Hayesville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Larry was born April 6, 1949, in Hayesville, NC to Arvil Monkus and Ruby Canup Monkus.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife June; children, Christopher Monkus, Selena (Chris) Rogers. Larry is also survived by his grandchildren Toby Monkus, Emily Shook, Melynne Rogers, Christopher Knight, Jerry Knight, sisters, Barbara (Sid) Penland, Janice (David) Fuller, Carol Arrowood, Sandy Fowler; brothers, Jerry (Carolyn) Monkus, Arnold Monkus.  Larry is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Larry was of the Baptist Faith. He dearly loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time outside. He was best known for making people laugh, and being willing to lend a helping hand.

Memorial service will be at Meadow Grove Baptist Church on Saturday August 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
