Mr. Lamar Edwin Harper, age 55, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at his home. Lamar was born Monday, August 25, 1952 in Fannin County, GA to the late Mr. Edwin Ernest Harper and Regina Green Harper. He was employed by the Georgia Dept. of Labor in Blue Ridge, GA. Lamar loved his family, friends and music.

He was preceded in death by father, Edwin "Red" Harper, and nephew, Chris Maney.

Survivors include: wife, Martha Harper of Blue Ridge, GA, daughter, Lindsay Harper of Blue Ridge, GA; mother, Regina Harper of McCaysville, GA; sister & husband, Sherry & Sandy Walden of McCaysville, GA; nephew & wife, Jeremy & Shelley Maney, Powder Springs, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert & Frances Moss of Blue Ridge, GA; sister-in-law & husband, Kathy & Mike Rogers of Douglasville, GA; niece, Michelle Long of Douglasville, GA ; nephew, Keith Rogers of Douglasville, GA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with Reverend Larry Stover officiating and eulogy given by David Ralston. Serving as pallbearers were Bob Stewart, Tom Brackett, David Ralston, Mike Hampton, Chuck Foster, Bill Howard, Glen Reece, and Kenny Stuart. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Georgia Dept. of Labor. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.
