Kenneth Melvin Allen

Kenneth Melvin Allen, age 76 of Morganton, formerly of Villa Rica, GA passed away Friday, July 13, 2018. Mr. Allen was born August 3, 1941 in Fannin County, GA to the late James Otis Allen and the late Cosby Ledford Allen. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by one step-son, Andy Borts and several of his brothers and sisters, Ralph Allen, Martha Holloway, JR Allen, Bill Allen, Hosea Allen and twin sisters, Radie and Madie Allen. Kenneth was Baptist in faith and an Army Veteran, in his spare time he enjoyed, camping in his RV, collecting and assembling model trains, watching westerns and attending church.

Survivors include loving wife, Rosie Lee Allen, daughter, Mary (Chris) Bell, son, John (Lisa) Allen, sister, Joanne Willis, sister, Ruth Long, brother, Robert Allen, two step-sons, Ken and Mark Borts, six grandchildren, Megan Stewart, Hannah Borts, Michael Borts, Jessi Borts, Zack Payne, Dallas Payne, Joe Thompson and Leslie Kadair and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Hemptown Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in the Hemptown Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the North GA Honor Guard. Pallbearers include William Gazaway, Rick Gazaway, Ricky Allen, Chris Bell, Zack Payne, and Michael Borts.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge on Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
