Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces the death of Mr. Kenneth Jay Shook, age 74 of Winder, GA passed away on Tuesday January 19th, 2021.
Mr. Shook was born on October 7th, 1946 in Young Harris, GA to the late T.J. and Ruby Shook. For most of his life, Ken worked as a Builder and Grading Contractor. Ken was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Winder and was a faithful servant. He was a loving husband, father, and Papaw.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deonda Shook; children, Kenneth (Dawn) Shook, Kimberly (Derek) Bass, Kresslan (Rachel) Shook; siblings, Tony (Cathy) Shook, Dinah (Kennon) Seabolt, Faye Daniels, and Ann Barrett; grandchildren, Tyler Shook, Caitlin Shook Patrick, Cole Shook, Anna Bass, Jackson Shook, Blake Shook, and Marley Shook; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday January 23rd, 2021 at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steven Smallwood officiating. Interment will follow the service with Nick Patrick, Tim Dills, Tyler Shook, Cole Shook, Jackson Shook, and Blake Shook all serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the great-grandsons, Laken Patrick, Sutton Shook, and Garrett Shook.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee.
