Mr. Kenneth Ivester, age 67 of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home. Mr. Ivester was born Saturday, October 12, 1940 in Clay County, NC to William Herbert Ivester and the late Mary Jeanette Mills Ivester. He was a member of Pine Log Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Marilyn "Mert" Ivester of Young Harris, GA, father and step-mother, Hub and Ruth Ivester of Young Harris, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, Odell and Tonya Ivester of Clay County, NC and Jennings and Dena Ivester and Brian and Carrie Ivester, both of Young Harris, GA, grandchildren, Cody, Haley, Kerri, Blake and Payton, and a special little girl, Bailey, sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Glen Teems of Young Harris, GA, uncle, Clay Ivester of Clay County, NC, Aunt, Eloise Carroll of Canton, OH, niece, Glenda Clayton and nephew, Stanley Teems, both of Young Harris.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 3:00 PM from the Pine Log Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Leatherwood and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music will be provided by Bill England and Keith Miller. Interment will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Ed McClure, Cecil Penland, Ted Barnes, Max Reece, Kenny Barnard, Ricky Cantrell and Ed Cantrell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM, Saturday, July 26.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Pine Log Cemetery or to Regency Hospice.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
