Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces graveside services for Mr. Kenneth Edward "Shorty" Lloyd, age 75, of Blairsville, who passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Lifecare Center of Copper Basin.
Mr. Lloyd was born in Blairsville on July 12, 1937 to the late Ray & Ethel Seabolt Lloyd. Kenneth was a skilled carpenter and built many homes over the years. He was known for being quick with a joke and never met a stranger which was evident by the many friends that he had. He enjoyed the outdoors. Whether in a tree stand hunting deer or fishing in the mountain streams and lakes, he felt at home. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Cantrell and Pearl Lloyd; brother, Earl Lloyd; and grandson, Jonathan Lloyd.
He will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his family: sons, Keith Lloyd, Kelvin Lloyd, Tommy Lloyd, Tony Lloyd, and Kenny Lloyd; daughters, Shelia Hughes, Vickie Rhodes and Cindy Jones; brothers, R.J. Lloyd and Andrew Lloyd; sister, Susie Ham; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Owltown Cemetery with Rev. Jonathon Hood officiating.
