Mr. Kenneth “Earl” Brackett, age 69 of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on September 21, 2020 following an extended illness. Earl was born on November 27, 1950 in Towns County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Truett and Lucille Brackett. Earl was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He served for the United States Army and later worked for Southern Bell. Earl was a skilled mechanic and spent much of his spare time at his garage building and working on old cars. He enjoyed attending car shows with friends and family over the years, fishing, and was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lucille and Truett Brackett, his mother-in-law, Lougene Lance, and his sister-in-law, Debbie Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Brackett, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Rachel Brackett, six nieces, a nephew, and several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday September 24th, 2020 at Union Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Berrong, Jeff Butt, Ralph Gillespie, Terry Hughes, Mike Rogers, and Brian Thomas. Wayne Roberts will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Flowers are acceptable, or donations can be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Brackett.
