Kathy Rebecca Daves

On March 6, 2021, Kathy Coggin Daves passed away peacefully at her home after a brief illness. She was born December 6, 1947, in Williamson, Georgia to William Joe and Sarah Coggin. Kathy is survived by her husband of 21 years, George Daves. Kathy received her BS and a Masters in Administration from Georgia College and Georgia State University. Kathy never met a stranger and as anyone knows who received a card or letter from her, she was quite witty and entertaining. She enjoyed corresponding with her friends, especially if they were going through hard times and she loved her mountain community. She and George volunteered at the Humane Society Thrift Store for many years where she felt she could make a difference not only for the animals but in recycling goods that were donated. She was always ready to do all she could for those in need.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Wilscot Cemetery in Fannin County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Kathy may be made to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter.
